DISTRICT OF ELKFORD
2025 SEALCOATING PROJECT: BOIVIN NORTH AREA
Starting Tuesday, July 15, the District of Elkford will begin sealcoating roads north of Boivin Creek in town. This treatment helps protect and extend the lifespan of asphalt through the application of an asphalt emulsion, keeping our roads safer and smoother for longer.
The work will take roughly seven to 10 days, depending on the weather. After that, sand will stay on the road surface for a few weeks before being swept up.
What to expect:
- Temporary single-lane traffic on selected streets and cul-de-sacs
- Occasional full closures with marked detour routes
- Slower speeds in residential areas—thank you for keeping it safe!
Residents will be notified in advance about treatment days for your area. If you live in a cul-de-sac and need to use your vehicle that day, we will ask you to please park in the designated zone outside the sealcoat area (not directly near the intersection). Emergency vehicles will still have full access.
Not going anywhere? You’re welcome to leave your vehicle in your driveway just please don’t drive over fresh sealcoat. It’ll stick with you. Literally.
